Chuck Larsen, the former General Manager of Carbon Power and Light, has passed away at the age of 68.

A fixture on the Cowboy Poetry circuit since 1990, Larsen’s amusing poems and touching stories about the Western way of life delighted audiences in big cities and small towns. He was the featured poet and emcee of the Grand Encampment Cowboy Gathering in the Platte Valley for more than decade.

Larsen retired from CP&L in 2015 after 36 years with the electric cooperative. He began is career as an apprentice lineman in Saratoga. After retiring, he settled into a ranch in Hulett, Wyoming with his wife Linda and his horse, Lefty. Larsen had recently been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. A celebration of Chuck’s life is being planned.
