The Wyoming Highway Patrol is asking residents to vote for its cruiser design in a country-wide competition.
Started in 2014 by the American Association of State Troopers, the annual Best Looking Cruiser Contest asks people to vote for their state’s police car design. The state whose cruiser garners the most votes receives the honor of gracing the cover of next year’s AAST calendar. Proceeds from calendar sales go to the American Association of State Troopers Foundation, which provides educational scholarships to the children of troopers.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol is asking people to vote for its cruisers. On its official Facebook page, the WHP said the contest is not only a fun and engaging way to showcase the state’s cruisers, but also an opportunity for the community to show their support and appreciation for the Wyoming Highway Patrol. The WHP said voting in the contest can help create a positive way to recognize law enforcement and foster a sense of pride within the community.
Last year, the Georgia State Patrol won the AAST Best Looking Cruiser Contest with a blue and gold design sporting the state seal on the door. In 2021, the Kentucky State Police was chosen for its gray cruiser featuring a blue stripe on the side.
Go to the American Association of State Troopers website, www.statetroopers.org, for a link to vote in the contest. Voting closes on July 31st.
The AAST website also features updated contest results. As of yesterday afternoon, the Wyoming Highway Patrol was sitting in 29th place, with 1,738 votes. Kentucky was in the lead with over 19,000 votes, nearly 4,000 more votes than second place Georgia.
