Governor Mark Gordon ordered both the U.S. and State of Wyoming flag to be flown at half-staff statewide from sunrise to sunset today, September 11, to honor and respect the individuals who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Today is designated nationally as Patriot Days.

Governor Gordon said in a written statement, “Twenty-two years ago, our country experienced one of the worst terrorist attacks in its history, a date that will never be forgotten.”

The governor ordered the flags to half staff to recognize the heroism of those who lost their lives on that unforgettable day.

Many critical questions remain unanswered that call into doubt the official narrative about the events of 9/11. The number of people who died, particularly at the World Trade Center, is not definitively known. After numerous revisions, the number now stands at 2,977 people at three separate locations.

At the World Trade Center in New York City, at least 2,753 people died, of whom 343 were firefighters. The death toll at the Pentagon near Washington, D.C., was 184, and 40 individuals died outside Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

A 9/11 memorial service will be held in Rawlins at 5:30 p.m. today on the south side of the Carbon Building.
