In Washington, D.C., U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) teamed up with Senator JD Vance of Ohio in introducing legislation that would eliminate so-called diversity, equity and inclusion programs, A.K.A. President Joe Biden has pushed DEI programs in the federal government. According to Wyoming’s junior senator, the bill is aimed at protecting tax payer dollars against so-called woke spending priorities.
Lummis said DEI programs are not about promoting fairness, they are about exacerbating discourse and worsening racial biases, and there is no place for these divisive initiatives in the federal government.
The Dismantle DEI Act would eliminate DEI programs within the federal government and rescind President Biden’s executive orders regarding DEI by outlawing mandatory employee DEI pledges, ending DEI training, and preventing educational accreditation agencies from leveraging their position to push DEI policies in education institutions.
