Time is running out to secure your preferred number license plate in Carbon County.
Maybe you feel lucky or are unphased by #13. The number and other digits are available through the Treasurer’s office through the end of this month.
Not all numbers are available. A list of available numbers can be viewed online. Sorry, 69 is not available. So don’t get any ideas. 699 is available.
Maybe your birth year is available. If you were born in the 1950s or 1960s, many of those numbers are available, such as 1961 through 1966. Most numbers in the 1980s and 1990s are also available.
If you’re a devil worshiper, sorry, 666 is not available. You can pick up 665 or 667 even if they don’t carry the same ominous tone.

Applications are available there, as well. The deadline for applying is Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 5:00 pm. Applications received after that time will not be considered.
If multiple requests are received for the same plate, a lottery drawing will be conducted on April 3, 2026. Applicants selected through the lottery drawing will be notified by phone or email no later than April 8, 2026.
Selected applicants must register the assigned plate to a vehicle that they own or lease by April 30, 2026. Any plates not registered by this date will be returned to inventory for regular issuance.
Truck plates are also available.
Treasurer’s Office staff will not check availability, provide information regarding the number of applications received for specific plate numbers, or hold plate numbers prior to the drawing.
