WGFD crew and Encampment students collar five big horn sheep
Biologists with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department caught and collared five big horn sheep over the weekend before the wind impeded operations. They plan to conduct another collaring operations later this week. The GPS devices will help state biologists develop habitat management plans. Emma Diercks reports.
Presentation shows proposed upgrades to county buildings
At last week’s Carbon County Council of Governments meeting, representatives from local municipalities listened to a presentation about planned renovations of the courthouse and the Carbon Building in Rawlins.
The extensive renovations to the two county-owned buildings would use money from a proposed specific purpose tax that will be voted on later this year. Cali O’Hare was at the meeting and filed this report.
Saratoga Town Council to address police department budget needs
The Saratoga Police Department is trying to stay within its budget constraints and still provide needed updates to gear. The Town Council plans to review the municipal budget to address department needs next month.
Former Rawlins man competing in Winter X-Games
A former Rawlins man is on his way to Aspen, Colorado, this morning to compete in the 2019 Winter X-Games. The self-described adrenaline junkie received his official invitation to compete last week, and hopes to medal in an adaptive discipline that is new to the X-Games this year, Para Snow BikeCross.
