The Carbon County Library Foundation is hosting the 2023 Rawlins Pumpkin Run.

Tomorrow, at 9:00am, is the 9th annual Pumpkin Run at the Rochelle Ranch Golf Course in Rawlins. Originally planned as a family-friendly fun run, the yearly event has grown to include several other activities. However, the 2K and 5K races are still the main events. Library Foundation Secretary Janice Sigrist said participants of all ages will have the chance to win a trophy during Saturday’s Pumpkin Run. Sigrist said young children will have their own shorter race.

Sigrist said the Library Foundation will also be holding a raffle during tomorrow’s event. For $1 a ticket, or $5 for six tickets, Sigrist said people will have the chance to win different fall-themed items.

Saturday’s Pumpkin Run will also feature a bounce house and an obstacle course. Rawlins Public Information Officer and Carbon County Library Foundation Vice-President Mira Miller said the obstacle course isn’t overly challenging. But Miller said you must carry a pumpkin through the entire course, so choose your pumpkin wisely.

The Library Foundation will also offer art activities during the event. Attendees may decorate a small pumpkin or customize a trick-or-treat bag. Miller said that some activities are more popular among the younger crowd, but everyone is welcome to participate in any of the fun things on offer.

A family pass to the Pumpkin Run is $50. A single adult ticket costs $20. Tickets for people under 18 years of age are $10. On top of being able to participate in all the day’s activities, Miller said attendees also receive several complimentary items.

Miller said the Carbon County Library Foundation has 113 pumpkins available for tomorrow’s event.

The 2023 Rawlins Pumpkin Run begins at 9:00am tomorrow, September 30th, at the Rochelle Ranch Golf Course. Tickets can be purchased at the event or online through carbonlibraries.org. All proceeds go to support the Carbon County Library System.
