The family of an 8-year-old Rawlins boy killed on Sunday has opened a bank account to collect donations.
Shortly after noon on August 2nd, first responders were notified of a collision between a bicycle and a vehicle near the intersection of East State Street and Jefferson Avenue on the south side of Rawlins. Tragically, the victim, 8-year-old Raiden Sanchez, was killed. Unconfirmed reports indicate the driver may have been drunk at the time, but the incident remains under investigation by the Rawlins Police Department and Wyoming Highway Patrol.
Yesterday morning, the Rawlins branch of Bank of Commerce announced that an account had been opened in the boy’s name to collect donations to support the Sanchez family.
Bank of Commerce customers can call the Rawlins office at 324‑2265 to transfer money directly from their accounts to the Sanchez fund. Alternatively, in‑person donations can be made at either the Rawlins or Saratoga branch or mailed to Bank of Commerce at PO Box 50 in Rawlins or PO Box 400 in Saratoga.
Unlike crowdfunding websites such as GoFundMe, 100 percent of the donations made through Bank of Commerce go directly to the Sanchez family.
