Saratoga’s outside accountant, James Childress, last week delivered the financial report addressing outstanding issues with the landfill fund. The landfill district has long-contended that the town has not paid what’s rightfully owed.

Childress’ report shows that the town owes the Upper Platte River Solid Waste Disposal District about $93,000 because of accounting mistakes dating back several years. The landfill board intends to have the report reviewed and verified by another accountant. Emma Diercks reports.
