A sad story out of Rawlins this morning: an Arizona man was killed by his own vehicle around 5 a.m. Friday when he stopped on the shoulder of the US 287 bypass through Rawlins to check his cargo load.

The man was crushed by the truck he thought he’d put in park, while his son sat in the passenger’s seat. Cali O’Hare was at the scene early Friday morning and filed this report.
