Mysterious booms on Saturday night frighten Saratoga residents and prompt calls to the police.

At approximately 11:00 pm on Saturday night, a resident of Saratoga created a Facebook post asking about the source of a loud bang coming from the direction of the Medicine Waters Mobile Home Community. The poster compared the sound to a shotgun blast. Saratoga Police Chief Mike Morris said a loud truck was seen in the area at the time, but the source of the noise remains unknown.

Chief Morris said his department also received calls about a similar sound on the morning of October 13th. The police chief said the source of the sound is likewise unknown.

The police chief said Friday and Saturday’s sounds were heard in the same area.

Chief Morris said this weekend wasn’t the first-time mysterious booms were heard in Saratoga. The chief said earlier in the year, he received reports of a series of explosion-like sounds coming from the east side of town.

Unlike the reports from this weekend, Chief Morris said the sounds heard during the winter were accompanied by flashes of lights.

Saratoga police have no suspects at this time and no clues about the source of the sounds. Chief Morris encouraged residents to continue to report any suspicious events to his department.
