WYDOT to close a county road this week to conduct testing on a bridge.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation will close a portion of County Road 203 on Wednesday, April 26th, for geology operations. WYDOT Public Relations Specialist Andrea Staley described the project.

The section of County Road 203, also known as Brush Creek Road, is about 8 and a half miles northeast of Riverside, where it crosses over the North Platte River. Project CN06068, as it is known internally at WYDOT, will completely replace the 93-year-old, single-lane bridge. The project is expected to cost around $3.6 million.

The preliminary geological testing will allow engineers to design a more permanent river crossing. The bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin in 2026.

According to a WYDOT press release, the temporary closure is anticipated to last one day. Travelers to the John E Rouse Beef Improvement Center may want to find an alternative route this Wednesday.
