Carbon County 4-H is holding a series of open houses. Hanna will host the first event this Monday.

On Monday, October 2nd, at Hanna Hills Church, the Hardy Hanna Harvesters is hosting a 4-H open house. Hanna group leader Chelsy Smith said she, and other 4-H representatives, will be on hand to educate people about some of the activities available to members. Smith said attendees can also sit in on a Hardy Hanna Harvester’s club meeting.

Smith said during Monday’s open house, people can learn more about 4-H activities. The Hanna club leader explained a few of the 4-H events that take place all around Carbon County.

Smith and her husband run the local branch of Carbon County 4-H, called Hardy Hanna Harvesters. Smith said the Hanna arm of the organization includes kids from five to 18 years old.

Smith said the Hardy Hanna Harvesters isn’t as focused on livestock activities as other 4-H clubs in the area. The Hanna club leader said her kids learn a wide variety of non-ag related skills during their meetings.

The Carbon County 4-H Club open house starts at 5:00pm this Monday, October 2nd. The event takes place at the Hanna Hills Church, located at 205 Main Street, and is free to attend. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Monday’s open house is the first in a series of 4-H open houses being held across the county. The next meeting is Thursday, October 5th, at the Rawlins Library. Baggs will host the next 4-H open house on October 14th. The final open house is scheduled for October 18th at the Platte Valley Community Center in Saratoga.
