Things happen and schedules change throughout fair and rodeo week. It used to be hard to keep track of it all between all the work and the fun. Now you can.

Carbon County Emergency Management has teamed up with the Fair Board to push messages to your smart phone. Whether you’re showing a 4-H project, roping or just attending the demolition derby or livestock auction, you can stay connected and up-to-date with real-time information.

Just text CCFAIR22 to 38276.

Carbon County Emergency Management Coordinator Lenny Layman told commissioners about the idea last month. Layman said the an “opt-in” feature to the county’s message alert system is temporary.

Layman said Julie Webb, the administrative assistant for the fair, and her board approved the messaging. The texts will only be sent from the start of the fair, which begins on July 23rd, through the Demolition Derby on August 6th.

“Message and data rates may apply,” is one of the prompts you’ll receive after opting into the feature. Layman said the message pool is anonymous. It’s also free to the county. Layman said the temporary feature for the fair added is available at no cost with the county’s Alert Sense Contract.

Sign up is easy. Text CC Fair 22 to 38276.

Once you send the text, you’ll receive a verification that you are on the list to receive messages.
