The high-country snow that fell in the mountains on both sides of the Wyoming-Colorado state line all winter is now flowing at bank full through Saratoga.

The river rose above action stage of 7.5 feet on Tuesday. The trend for the North Platte is to ebb and flow a bit with a general rise over the next two days, reaching a level of 8.4 feet—just shy of minor flood stage by Friday.

The long-term trend indicates the river cresting next week with a high probability of the North Platte slowly receding back into its channel by Memorial Day weekend and into June.

According to National Weather Service charts, next week will be a critical time for potential flooding in Saratoga.

Saratoga Police Sergeant Christen, who serves as Emergency Manager for Saratoga, did not respond to our calls Tuesday about the potential for flooding on the North Platte River this week.

The North Platte at Saratoga stands at 7.73 feet Wednesday morning.
