The Carbon Power & Light Board of Directors has selected Jim Beckmann to serve as the new General Manager of the electric cooperative based in Saratoga.
Beckman will replace Russell Waldner, who is retiring on July 15, 2025.
Beckman currently oversees the Engineering Department and Internet Technology at CP&L.
Carbon Power and Light serves the Platte Valley, Rock River and rural Albany County.
The selection process for selecting a new general manger started several months ago with the board’s Management Succession Committee accepting applications and conducting interviews. Following the interview process, the committee selected Mr. Beckmann for the position.
Mr. Beckmann started working at CP&L as a Staking Engineer in 2010. He was promoted to Superintendent of Engineering in 2015 and was then promoted to his current position as Director of Engineering in 2016.
He enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking and camping as well as spending time with his boys.
