The convicted killer of five people in the attack on a gay and lesbian nightclub in Colorado Springs one year ago was recently moved to the Wyoming State Prison in Rawlins due to safety concerns.

Anderson Aldrich stands accused of killing five people and injuring 22 others in the attack. Aldrich, who claims to have a non-binary gender identity and uses non-specific pronouns,  pleaded guilty in June to five counts of first-degree murder and 46 counts of attempted first-degree murder.

A judge sentenced the mass murder to five life sentences plus another 2,208 years in prison — 48 years for each of the 46 attempted murder charges.

Alondra Gonzalez, a spokesperson for the Colorado Department of Corrections, said in an email, “Aldrich was moved to the Wyoming State Penitentiary because of the “high-profile” nature of the case”.

Gonzalez did not specify when the department moved the convicted mass-murderer to Rawlins.
