Things got testy between the Carbon County Commissioners and Rocky Mountain Power this week.

RMP is seeking a conditional use permit for a 20-mile extension to the Gateway West Transmission line north of Medicine Bow to the Carbon/Natrona County line west of Wyoming 487.

When commissioners asked the power company to explore the cost and time involved with locating the power line to the east side of the highway, the discussion went sideways.

The RMP representative even played the “lawyer up” card. Emma Diercks has the story.
