The Rawlins Community Builder Committee recognized dance instructor Rebecca Tiger for her volunteer service to the city.

Every month, the Rawlins Community Builder Committee chooses a resident who works to make the city a better place. The December Community Builder Award went to Rebecca Tiger. Volunteer Committee member and Utilities Supervisor Mike O’Brien said Tiger attempts to create more city pride through her Facebook page.

O’Brien said Tiger’s Facebook page offers residents a place to talk about what they love and what could be improved in Rawlins. On top of running her Facebook page, O’Brien said Tiger also coordinates many different activities around the community.

Tiger runs her own dance studio. O’Brien said Tiger also does her best to make people proud to live in Rawlins.

Tiger was presented with a plaque and a $100 check. After thanking the city for her award, Tiger said she doesn’t volunteer for public recognition. The Community Builder Award recipient said she couldn’t do what she does without the support of her family.

Tiger chose to donate her $100 check to Pet Partners of Carbon County. Pet Partners is an organization that finds homes for stray and feral cats.
