The Carbon County Commissioners announced the renaming of the coroner’s office during a special, surprise ceremony held yesterday. The Paul A. Zamora Coroner Building was dedicated to the man who made it a reality. Cali O’Hare was at the ceremony and filed this report.

The signage for the Paul A. Zamora Coroner Building in Rawlins has been finalized. Large metal lettering, accompanied by Zamora’s mantra, “Be their voice” will be installed on the east and north sides of the building, and a granite cornerstone will become a permanent part of the structure. Longtime Coroner Paul Zamora is retiring early after nearly 16 years of service in that capacity. A retirement party was held on April 29th.
