It’s now legal in Rawlins to do what you likely always did to protect your trees and other landscape features from deer. You put up livestock fencing. The city never enforced the regulation. Violations were apparent around town on a year-round basis. Then the city itself became a violator this spring when it planted fruit trees and used hog panel fencing to protect its investment of time and money. A councilman objected and a six-month saga to change the rule ensued. Cali O’Hare has the latest.
