The winter snow may have melted, but photographs of it last forever. The Carbon County Museum is looking for pictures of the winter of 2022 and 2023 for a new display.

Staff at the Carbon County Museum are asking people to send photographs of the excessive snow our area experienced last year. Museum Director Tom Mensik said the pictures may be used in a new transportation-themed exhibit.

The Carbon County Museum’s transportation exhibit is set to open this summer. Director Mensik explained the scope of the exhibition.

Mensik is seeking high-resolution digital pictures for his transportation-based exhibit. The museum director said he’ll also accept physical photographs and personal stories about living through the snowy winter.

Photos and stories from Rawlins, I-80, Highway 30, or any other place in Carbon County can be sent to education@carboncountymuseum.org or director@carboncountymuseum.org. Museum staff will review the submissions and pick the ones that best match the theme of the exhibit. The deadline for submissions is this Friday, March 22nd.
