Today’s Headlines:

  • The Saratoga Police Department’s 911 system is now running smoothly after several months of fixing glitches. Cell phones will now ring into the department without being re-routed, saving precious time in emergency situations.
  • It’s good news/bad news for ice anglers in Carbon County. While conditions look promising for next month’s ice fishing derby on Saratoga Lake, there’s still hardly any ice to be found on Seminoe Reservoir.
  • There is still a lot of cold weather yet to come and youngsters wanting to get into ice fishing prior to Saratoga’s Ice Fishing Derby have the chance to learn the skills and safety practices.
  • If you are prowling for a party this weekend, plan accordingly. You don’t want to start the New Year dishing out money for fines and attorney fees because of a DUI. New Year’s Eve events are planned for across Carbon County and free cab services are available in Rawlins and Sinclair.
  • Carbon County School District #2 is thanking Sinclair Wyoming Refining Company for their donation to the Kindergarten Readiness Program.
  • Tucker Carricato of Saratoga has accomplished what many cowboys can’t in a lifetime; a National Finals Rodeo championship.
