Governor Mark Gordon Wednesday extended the state public health orders that have been in place since mid-March for two more weeks. Restrictions on outdoor gatherings, however, have been eased.

The governor said with high school sports starting, he’s going to allow for bigger crowds as long as social distancing guidelines are followed.

The governor noted that the goal is to keep outdoor attendance at 50 percent of any venues capacity to allow for ample social distancing. Indoor gatherings in a confined space remain limited to 50 persons without restrictions and 250 persons if social distancing and sanitization measures are incorporated.

The public health restrictions that apply to restaurants, bars, gyms and performance spaces will remain in place through August 31.
