Governor Gordon’s Health Task Force and the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) have been working on ways to improve healthcare delivery in the state.

Early on, the group focused on emergency medical services (EMS) with the intent of reducing costs and providing additional care.

The group’s work culminated with the Legislature appropriating $20 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding to help stabilize the current system and provide regional pilot programs. Governor Gordon applauded the work of the legislature to support the Health Task Force’s request.

Since last year the Governor’s Health Task Force has been engaged in conversations to better understand EMS operations around the state, which face financial and staffing challenges. The task force is scheduling a series of discussions with EMS stakeholders around the state to gain better insight into ways to support and improve the system.
