Several Biden Administration officials joined Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon on Tuesday, south of Rawlins, for the ceremonial groundbreaking of the TransWest Express Transmission Project. The high-voltage transmission system will deliver wind-produced electricity to the interstate power grid across the western U.S.
On hand for the groundbreaking ceremony on the Overland Trail Ranch from Washington, D.C. were U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland and U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place on the Overland Trail Ranch, a working cattle ranch, south of Rawlins where the TWE Project’s northern HVDC terminal is sited. A community reception followed in downtown Rawlins.
