Next Wednesday, November 15th, Hanna Elementary School is hosting a community-wide quiz show for people ages 14 and up.  Contestants will compete for the chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card at the Hanna Elementary School Community Trivia Night.

This time last year, the elementary school offered a community Thanksgiving dinner. Principal Jackie Jones said she felt like people had enough options for turkey this season. Instead of providing food, Principal Jones said the school will have teams of three to five people compete in a trivia contest.

Every member of the winning team will receive a $50 Amazon gift card. Principal Jones said the team with the most correct responses will win the event, but she is hoping to see everyone compete in a positive and collaborative way.

Next Wednesday’s Hanna Elementary School Community Trivia Night will feature a free nacho bar and childcare. Principal Jones said parents can drop their children off for a pajama party while they compete in the quiz tournament.

During the pajama party, popcorn will be sold for 50 cents a bag, with free refills. Parents or guardians must be in the Hanna Elementary School building while their children are at the pajama party.

Each three-to-five-member team of trivia contestants must pay a $25 entry fee. Principal Jones said the cost of admission will help the school offset the price of the food and prizes. To further pay for the event, Principal Jones said Hanna Elementary School teachers are asking people and businesses to sponsor a trivia category.

Principal Jones said the Hanna branch of the Rawlins National Bank has offered to sponsor the trivia night. The elementary school principal said the quiz show has already garnered a lot of interest.

Principal Jones said teachers Kyle Warren and Sarah Jones came up with the community trivia night as a way for people to engage with the Hanna Elementary School. Principal Jones said she is proud of what is going on at the school and wants people to know.

The Hanna Elementary School Community Trivia Night is next Wednesday, November 15th. Doors open at 6:00 pm. The trivia contest starts at 6:30 pm. Entry is $25 a team. Teams are encouraged to pre-register for the event by visiting the main office of the Hanna Elementary School, at 300 3rd Street. The registration form can be found by clicking on the event tab on the Hanna Elementary Facebook page.
