A deceased male was found under an interstate overpass near Rawlins last week. The Sheriff’s Office says evidence points to suicide.

Last Sunday, February 5th, Carbon County Sheriff’s Deputies were alerted to the discovery of a man found dead. The body was located west of Rawlins near mile marker 215 by a resident chasing his dogs.

Sheriff’s deputies believe the man was the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. A handgun was found nearby.

Sheriff Bakken said in a statement that the body had been there for several days. Following an investigation by the Carbon County coroner, the man was determined to be 46-year-old Michael Gribowskas from Lander.

The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office said foul play is not suspected.
