The Upper Platte River Solid Waste Disposal District is requesting a full audit of the Town of Saratoga’s landfill fund.

The board has had questions including why the large sum of money in the fund has declined but no payments were remitted to the district. UPRSWDD has also questioned where the money went, and how much money the town owes the district.

Coming up with receipts for the transfers and calculating how much money is owed to the landfill were tasks delegated to the town’s outside accountant, James Childress, who has not reported his findings. Emma Diercks has the story.
