Nine nonprofit organizations serving Rawlins and Carbon County are now slated to receive an additional $2,000 over what they requested from the Rawlins City Council in the upcoming fiscal year, thanks to a motion made during the second reading of the budget on Tuesday.

The Chairman of the Rawlins-Carbon County Airport Board, who also serves on the City Council, requested the $25,000 in funding the airport would receive from the city instead be divided up among the nine nonprofit organizations. Cali O’Hare reports.
