The search for a missing Encampment man has ended in tragedy. Tyrell Baldwin, age 36, had been missing since Monday morning. Details are scarce, but Baldwin was found dead on Tuesday, according to a family member in the Platte Valley.

Baldwin’s mother, Robin Reinhardt, said she last saw her son on Monday morning, January 29. Baldwin lived with Reinhardt in Encampment with his young daughter. Reinhardt said after visiting with his daughter’s mother, Baldwin returned home to retrieve clothes for the child. Afterward, he disappeared.

Reinhardt said Baldwin’s former wife and mother of their child, who lives in Longmont, Colorado messaged her Monday afternoon asking where Baldwin was. Reinhardt said her son left a disturbing note with the child’s mother.

On Tuesday, Reinhardt said she believed her son is in danger.  She said Baldwin’s note explicitly refers to his death and what to do with his body. Balwin’s mother said her son has never exhibited a desire to self-harm in the past.

Reinhardt said she contacted the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office soon after learning about her son’s disappearance. Baldwin’s mother said deputies lost track of her son’s phone in Colorado. Reinhardt said she has also been unsuccessful in contacting her son.

At 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, Reinhard messaged Bigfoot 99 reporter Matt Copeland and said that police had located the body of her son. Reinhardt did not provide any more information about the death of her son.
