Officials from Memorial Hospital in Rawlins before the Carbon County Commissioners last week seeking funds for improvements at the facility. County staff is researching what accounts would be appropriate to use for the funding. Emma Diercks has the story.
Sinclair developing apartments on Tin Can Hill
Last week, the governing bodies for both Carbon County and the City of Rawlins signed-off on a new deed for the property known as Tin Can Hill.
As part of the process, the developer behind the apartment complex was named for the first time.

In Saratoga, Councilman Steve Wilcoxson has long wanted to develop Tyler Pickett Park at Veteran’s Island to honor a fallen local soldier.
Last week, Wilcoxon proposed several options to provide funding to continue the work, which has been stalled for the last few years. Emma Diercks reports.
Local eyeglasses program helps people around the world
Thanks to an unlikely partnership that began here in Carbon County, thousands of people living with vision problems in developing countries will soon have a chance to see clearly.
Members of the Rawlins Lions Club have collected thousands of prescription glasses from around Wyoming, and employed inmates at the state penitentiary to sort through them by prescription type.
During a special tour of the WSP facility last week, Warden Pacheco called the program a “win-win” for everyone involved or touched by the project. Cali O’Hare attended the tour and filed this report.
