Next Platte Valley healthcare meeting this Wednesday

In Saratoga, last week’s discussion on Health Management Services and the company’s lease for the clinic owned by the town will continue this week.

On Wednesday, the Healthcare Sustainability Project Committee will talk about how to handle the inability of HMS to meet the terms of the lease.

The committee will also take another look at the feasibility study for a critical access hospital as well as its proposed locations. Emma Diercks has the story.

Public input wanted on Rawlins senior living facility

In Rawlins, a committee working to develop some type of assisting living or independent living facility for seniors is seeking the public’s feedback through a short survey.

The Aging in Place Committee is gearing up to work on a strategic plan for such a facility, but first the group wants to hear about the needs and desires of area residents. Cali O’Hare has the story.

Landfill officials consider options for carcasses

The dead animal pit at the Saratoga landfill has to go. Members of the Upper Platte Valley Solid Waste Disposal District are still discussing what to do with wild game and livestock carcasses as they prepare for the state-mandated closure of the landfill. Emma Diercks has the story.

County going out to bid on roof replacements

County officials hope to replace a few leaky roofs this summer. On the short list is Carbon County Jail.

During last week’s commissioners meeting, the board voted to move forward with bids for the work. Cali O’Hare has more.

The Saratoga boys basketball squad took part in a team camp in Lusk over the weekend and got their incoming freshman class some valuable experience. Joey Saverine has the story.
