With less than a week to go to the mid-term election, the Carbon County Clerk’s office reports that more than 330 absentee ballots that have not been returned yet. Carbon County Clerk Gwynn Bartlett briefed County Commissioners about the status of absentee ballots at their regular meeting Tuesday.

At the time of Bartlett’s report, the number of outstanding ballots was 337. Voters who requested absentee ballots can return them to the clerk’s office in Rawlins by U.S. mail or by hand-delivering them. Again, absentee ballots must be returned to the clerk’s office by the time the polls close on Tuesday. Absentee ballots cannot be returned to polling places around the county.

The 1,334 absentee ballots mailed out for the general are far fewer than for the primary election in August. According to official election results for Carbon County, 2,886 absentee ballots were cast in the primary.

Election Day is November 8th. Polls open Tuesday at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
