The Saratoga council heard a proposal for a new subdivision on the south side of town.

During last Tuesday’s town council meeting, Mayor Chuck Davis said the planning and zoning commission voted to approve the construction of a subdivision on the east side of Highway 130, between Myrtle Avenue and Veterans Street. Mayor Davis said the town council was also required to hold a public meeting on the matter.

The subdivision will be built by the Saratoga contracting firm, Triple D Construction. WLC Engineering designed the project. Mayor Davis asked WLC’s Rawlins Officer Manager Doug Boyd to provide some background information before the next town council meeting. Boyd explained the scope of the project.

Boyd said the Carbon County Impact Joint Powers Board has given his water and sewer design the green light. The WLC engineer said each property will have its own treatment system to handle human waste.

Boyd said the subdivision map, or plat, was approved by the town’s planning and zoning commission.

Mayor Davis said he would add the public meeting to the following town council agenda. Saratoga’s next town council meeting will be Tuesday, July 18th, beginning at 6:00pm.
