The Saratoga Care Center put new COVID-19 protocols in place Monday after a staff member tested positive for the virus. Under the cautionary guideline, indoor visits have been suspended for two weeks. The care center’s nursing supervisor, Linda Smith, confirmed the new protocol.

Under the new protocol, indoor visits and outpatient physical therapy will not be allowed for 14 days. The nursing supervisor said exceptions do exist. Outdoor visits with residents will be allowed. Compassionate care visitations will also be allowed, Smith said.

Bigfoot 99 learned separately from someone close to the facility that the employee who tested positive worked the night shift. Smith said HIPPA rules prevented her from stating whether the staff worker had been vaccinated against the virus or not.
