The Saratoga Middle/High School boys wrestling team had a great weekend in Wind River country.

Jared Mason, the SMHS wrestling coach, said he had a nearly full roster at last weekend’s Don Runner Invitational in Pavillion. As well as a second and fourth-place finish, Coach Mason said his team brought home two first-place victories.

On January 7th, the Saratoga wrestling team attended the Wrangler Duals held at the Shoshoni High School. Coach Mason said his team faced some stiff competition.

Coach Mason said his team will attend a match in Lander this weekend. He said his squad will watch students from higher division schools compete. Coach Mason said it will give his team a chance to compare themselves to the competition before the January 27th Ron Thon in Riverton.

Coach Mason said the two-day event is one of the most demanding tournaments on the schedule.

With last weekend’s showing, the Panther boys wrestling team is doing well. Coach Mason said the boys are primed for a good season.

Starting on January 27th, the Ron Thon high school wrestling tournament will see the Saratoga Panthers wrestling team face off against competitors from across the state.
