The Alcova Resort may reopen its doors as early as this summer in the same location as the former Marina Bar and Grill.

The original establishment, a popular destination for boaters and those looking for a day trip, burned down over the July 4th holiday last summer.

The new restaurant and resort will be located on the same high ground as the former Marina Bar & Grill. Visitors may notice that the new venue is smaller and more compact.

Resort co-owner Russ Mason says the more open layout will better accommodate events like concerts and weddings. Mason and his family have managed the venue since 2018.

Last summer after the resort was engulfed in flames and burned to the ground in a complete loss, the operators thanked the community for the “outpouring of support” and pledged that they would return.

Mason said many of the establishment’s traditional favorites will be back, as well, including the nostalgic, giant ice cream cones. No official opening date has been announced yet.
