An old fundraiser in Rawlins is returning with a new name and a new format. After concerns about Covid killed their annual fundraiser, the Rawlins Downtown Development Authority/Main Street will host a Valentine’s Day-themed event next week.

Seeing a lack of community events in February, Rawlins DDA’s project coordinator, Sondra Dent, said now seemed like a good time to hold the Sweet Soiree. Dent described some of the activities on tap during the evening’s fundraiser.

Auction items include jewelry, art, bottles of wine and home décor.

Individual tickets are $48 a person and include access to hors d’eouvres and the dessert table. Couple’s tickets are also available. Dent described the extras provided with the $200 “Date Night” tickets.

The money raised will go toward the DDA’s Skyline Light project.

The Rawlins Downtown Development Authority/Main Street’s Sweet Soiree is February 11th at the Jeffery Center from 6 – 11 p.m. Tickets are available at the Rawlins DDA office at 116 4th Street in the upstairs suite, or online at downtownrawlins.org.
