A Rawlins man apparently committed suicide last week within sight of the city’s elementary school.

Rawlins Police Lieutenant Jared Frakes said last Thursday morning an unidentified man was found dead about a half mile from the Rawlins Elementary School.

Lt. Frakes said he was unable to release the man’s identity or cause of death. Because he was unaware if the man’s family had been informed, Lt. Frakes said the Carbon County Coroner’s Office would oversee the release any additional information.

Sources outside law enforcement tell Bigfoot99 that the man was 48-year-old Nathaniel Paul Young. According to his online obituary, Young was born on August 20th, 1974, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. As of the reporting of this story, Bigfoot99 has not received confirmation about the man’s identity from the coroner’s office.
