Rawlins Councilwoman Jacquelin Wells was named Vice Mayor for the second time this month.

Wells was nominated and accepted the position at the council’s first meeting in January. A minor flub in wording during the nominating procedure drew pointed criticism on social media and forced a mulligan – a second vote – at this week’s meeting.

Confusion over the exact wording again ensued, but was corrected, and the result of the vote was the same. Wells was elected vice mayor. Cali O’Hare has the play-by-play.

Wells was named Vice Mayor of the City of Rawlins at the January 5, 2021 meeting, but due to public pushback over the wording, a re-vote was held on January 19th. The outcome didn’t change, Wells will serve a two-year term as the Vice Mayor of the City of Rawlins. Photo by Cali O’Hare/Bigfoot 99.
