Rawlins Middle School teacher Stephanie Trimble was chosen to receive the October 2026 Community Builder Award.

Every month, the Rawlins Volunteer Education Recognition and Appreciation Committee selects a person or organization to honor for their service to the city. During Tuesday’s Rawlins City Council meeting, Fire Battalion Chief and Volunteer Committee Member Allen Robinson announced that Stephanie Trimble was selected for the October Community Builder Award. Chief Robinson said Trimble urges more residents to take part in efforts to improve the city.

Chief Robinson added that Trimble is active in numerous civic organizations, including the Wyoming Local Assistance State Team, or L.A.S.T., which supports families and departments following a firefighter death in the line‑of‑duty. However, he said her work as a middle school band teacher may be most deserving of an award.

Trimble expressed her gratitude for the award, adding that she doesn’t serve for public credit, but to improve the quality of life in Rawlins.

Every Community Builder Award winner receives a plaque and $100 to donate to a non-profit organization of their choice. Stephanie Trimble chose to give her prize money to the Rawlins Music Academy.
