Local emergency management officials in Saratoga have not responded to phone calls from Bigfoot 99 about the potential for flooding in town through the weekend beginning Friday.

The river through the center of town reached “action” stage of 7.5 feet on Monday. The National Weather Service hydrograph for the North Platte at Saratoga forecasts a constant rise through the week, reaching a peak of 8.4 feet – just shy of minor flooding—on Friday afternoon. The state forecast indicates the river will run high through the weekend, not breaking the minor flood level of 8.5 feet.

Sandbags are available to residents and are available at the town shop.
