The Saratoga Town Council will meet today in special session at 1 p.m.

The agenda is short. It includes consideration of the new 8-home subdivision slated to be built on the south of Myrtle Avenue and east of South Veterans Street. The parcel of land overlooks the Saratatoga Golf Course, the Hugus Irrigation Ditch, and North Platte River with an expansive view to the east.

As reported previously by Bigfoot 99, Triple D Construction has partnered with the owner of the property, Dr. Michael Jansson, to develop it. The entire subdivision covers about 45 acres.

Brian Drake of Triple D said the subdivision will feature seven properties, each priced over $1-million.

Drake said he could have built 72 houses on the land, but the town’s existing sewer system could not handle the increased pressure. Questions have surrounded the property for some time. Today is the last day to get answers.

Today’s meeting starts at 1 p.m. this afternoon. Council will also consider liquidated damages for Lewis and Lewis Construction for the downtown paving work at this afternoon’s special town council meeting.
