At its budget workshop this week, the Town of Saratoga cut expenses down to $2.9 million to match an optimistic revenue projection.

On the chopping block, a dump truck and a fire truck that have been needed for some time. Getting a boost, however, is the recreation department.

The part-time director’s position will become full-time with a $2,600 per month insurance plan on top of the $31,000 annual salary. Some of the money will come from the $25,000 that the council previously had allocated to the baseball fields. Emma Diercks has more.
