The Saratoga Town Council held a special meeting on Friday to take action on a variance for Octagon Construction to avoid tap fees required by ordinance for a subdivision its building south of the airport.

Previous workshops held by both the town council and the water and sewer board have debated meaning of that the ordinances and the lack of clarity in the language. In any case, everyone agrees that the ordinance has not been followed during the construction of other subdivisions in Saratoga. Octagon is asking for a variance that will conform to language that may ultimately become the ordinance.

On Tuesday, we will report on the outcome of Friday’s meeting. In this report, Emma Diercks has this background on the issues at stake.
