County hospital enters Platte Valley healthcare saga

In Saratoga, town council members and the operator of the medical clinic were taken by surprise this week by Mayor John Zieger. The mayor opened the door to an alternative to a local health care plan that has been rolling out for the last year.

Zieger invited Memorial Hospital of Carbon County to give a presentation on services they might provide if asked to step in and take control of the Platte Valley clinic. Emma Diercks has the story.

Rawlins officials approve urban deer management plan

The City of Rawlins this week formally adopted a plan to manage the urban mule deer population with lethal methods. While the herd won’t be eradicated, a set number of deer will be harvested on an ongoing basis. Cali O’Hare has the latest.

Riverside to host public documents online

The Town of Riverside is working to go digital with its public documents.

The municipality’s website hasn’t been updated since 2017, making it difficult for residents to access information, including new ordinances the town council is working on.

Volunteers wanted to distribute American flags

Memorial Day is fast approaching and the American Legion needs help. Rawlins American Legion Post 122 is seeking volunteers to help place flags on the graves of around 900 military men and women buried in the city cemetery.

The work will be done Saturday prior to Monday’s Memorial Day Ceremony. Cali O’Hare has the details.

Saturday, May 25th; meet at the gazebo at the Rawlins municipal cemetery at 8:45 a.m.
Memorial Day Ceremony hosted by American Legion Post 122
Monday, May 27th, meet at the rocks at the Rawlins municipal cemetery at 10 a.m.
*Contact American Legion Post 122 Commander Mike Sherr at (307) 321-8862 to volunteer to place flags or to volunteer as a speaker during the Memorial Day ceremony. 

 

 

Outlaws soccer improves from last season

The Rawlins soccer program wrapped up their season last weekend, and while it didn’t end the way they had hoped, the year was a major success. Joey Saverine has the story.
