Report shows Saratoga airport accounting errors

During a special meeting this week, the Saratoga Airport Board learned why its funding account showed a deficient amount during the last town audit.

Accounting errors are being blamed.

Some entries were listed twice in the revenue ledger as money coming in from the FAA and again as an expenses paid to contractors for projects the federal agency reimbursed. Emma Diercks has the story.

New coroner’s office nears completion

County officials expect to have the new coroner’s facility completed by the end of next month.

The move is being called a major upgrade, and not just in terms of space for the coroner’s office. Cali O’Hare reports.

Sixth penny tax goes back into effect next month

Next Tuesday residents and visitors to Carbon County will see an additional charge on their receipts. On October 1st, local merchants will start collecting the sixth penny specific purpose tax.

This is the optional tax that voters here elected to support last May. Emma Diercks reports.

Library hosts fun run and story walk
