Barrasso speaks out on Kavanaugh hearing

The Senate Judiciary Committee is hearing testimony this morning from Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Professor Christine Blasey Ford about her allegations that Judge Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while the two were teenagers. Speaking to Bigfoot 99 prior to the gavel sounding to open the hearing, Wyoming Senator John Barrasso said all the judge is looking for is a fair process.

Senator Barrasso said he was not sure how the hearings could affect the vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation or if there would even be a vote.

 

Drunk man causes school delay in Hanna

Hanna schools experienced a two-hour delay Wednesday morning as a safety precaution. Hanna Marshal Jeff Neimark later told Bigfoot 99 that children were kept off the street because law enforcement believed an armed suspect was in the area. Emma Diercks has more.

 

 

Inmate testifies in state penitentiary sexual assault trial

Day two of the Shantell Wyant trial began Wednesday morning in Carbon County District Court. The jury heard testimony from the officials who conducted those initial interviews regarding the sexual assault in the second degree of a Wyoming State Penitentiary inmate, watched the hour-long video of Wyant’s interview, listened to witness testimony and heard from the inmate himself. Cali O’Hare was back in the courtroom yesterday and has the update.

CCSD2 surpasses state averages in academic assessment

Results for the first round of Wyoming’s K-12 academic assessment have been released. Carbon County School District Two out-performed state averages while District One’s scores where lower. Emma Diercks reports.
