Funeral leads to threats, arrest of Montana man
A Montana man who allegedly threatened to shoot his nephew with an unloaded pistol following a family funeral pleaded not guilty in district court Monday.
Arrest documents state the suspect threatened his nephew for putting cigarettes and matches in his mother’s urn. Emma Diercks reports.
Rawlins rejects incorrect fire truck bids
The City of Rawlins will go out to bid again on a new fire truck. Officials said the specs for the unit in the original bid were incorrect.
If the half-million dollar pumper had been purchased, it would not have fit the department’s needs or into the fire station, either. Cali O’Hare reports.
Body found near Sinclair
On Friday, the Carbon County Sheriff’s Deputies recovered the body of a deceased male south of Sinclair. The sheriff’s office received the report around 11:25 Friday morning. No foul play is suspected, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department. The investigation into the cause and time of death is ongoing.
USFS water and sewer project complete
The job of connecting Saratoga’s water and sewer system to the Forest Service compound outside town limits is complete. The district ranger’s office is now working to finish the bunkhouse on the property.
Meanwhile, both the town and the district ranger are developing a water and sewer service agreement, which includes a clause that required the Forest Service complex to annex to the municipal limits if asked.
Sports: UW basketball mentors in Rawlins
The University of Wyoming men’s basketball team spent the weekend in Rawlins as part of the athletic outreach program.
